What Sets Us Apart

The reasons people
bring their watches back

Chandra has served Bangkok watch owners for sixteen years. Here is what we hear matters most to those who return.

What Chandra brings to every service

Assessment Before Action

We write up what a watch needs before touching it. You read, ask questions, and then decide. No surprise charges, no work you did not ask for.

Patina Left Intact

A vintage watch should look like one. We conserve the case, dial, and hands rather than re-polishing away decades of earned wear.

Clear, Fixed Pricing

Our three services have posted prices in Thai Baht. If a complication or rare part changes the cost, we tell you first and you decide.

Photographic Records

Restoration projects are documented with photographs at each significant stage. You receive a record of what was done, not just a finished watch.

One Watchmaker Per Piece

The person you speak to at the counter handles your watch personally. Work is not divided between anonymous technicians on a production line.

Honest Timelines

We give realistic completion estimates and hold to them. If something takes longer, you hear from us before it becomes a problem.

In Depth

Professional expertise, built over two decades

Nattawut Chandra trained in Bangkok and completed advanced work in Geneva before returning to establish the atelier. The workshop team brings depth across Swiss lever escapements, Japanese automatics, and older English and American pocket watch calibres.

This is not general electronics repair with a watchmaking module attached. The team works exclusively on mechanical movements, which means every hour of experience is relevant to what arrives on the bench.

  • Trained in Geneva and Bangkok over fifteen years before founding the atelier
  • Experience with Swiss, Japanese, and vintage Anglo-American calibres
  • Focused exclusively on mechanical watches — no quartz, no battery changes
  • Active membership with the Thailand Watchmakers Association

Equipment suited to the work

Good tools do not replace skill, but they make skilled work more consistent. Chandra uses a Witschi timing machine for multi-position regulation checks, a Elma ultrasonic cleaning system, and keeps a stock of current Moebius and Bergeon lubricants. These are industry-standard tools, not consumer alternatives.

Parts sourcing is handled through established suppliers in Bangkok and via contacts in Switzerland for vintage pieces that require period-correct components.

  • Witschi timing machine for six-position regulation checks
  • Ultrasonic movement cleaning with appropriate solvents
  • Current Moebius lubricants matched to movement type
  • Access to vintage parts suppliers in Bangkok and Switzerland

Communication that respects your time

When you drop off a watch, you receive a written assessment within a few days. If you are not in Bangkok, we can discuss the piece by email. Every significant decision during work is put back to you before we act on it — particularly for vintage restoration, where what to preserve and what to replace requires the owner's view.

  • Written condition report shared before any service begins
  • Email updates for out-of-town customers during restoration
  • All restoration decisions shared with the owner before proceeding
  • Single contact person throughout — no handoffs or departments

Value that is easy to understand

Three services, three posted prices in Thai Baht. A Wind & Wellness Check at ฿4,200, a Full Service at ฿9,600, and Vintage Restoration starting at ฿14,400. These are our standard rates. If a watch has a particularly unusual complication, we discuss it before quoting. There is no hidden diagnostic fee layered on top.

  • Three clearly priced services — no ambiguous "starting from" pricing
  • No separate diagnostic charge on top of service cost
  • Cost additions only with your agreement and before fitting any part
  • Thai Baht pricing — no currency conversion complications

Things we do that few others do

The Story Panel

For restoration customers, we prepare a short written narrative of the work with before and after photographs. The watch comes back with a record of its service history in hand.

Return Visit Check

Watches serviced at Chandra are welcome back for a no-charge regulation check six months after service. Running fine is something we like to confirm, not assume.

Condition Decline Report

If we assess a watch and conclude that the cost of service outweighs what the movement is likely to achieve, we say so clearly. You are never pressed toward a service that does not make sense for the piece.

Remote Consultation

If you are not in Bangkok, we can discuss a watch by email before you ship it. We share what information would help us assess the piece and whether the service is likely to be suitable for it.
